Best thing we did:
Cliff Dwelling Tours led by the Park Rangers

We learned a lot about the cliff dwellings here. They are the largest found dwellings in the Americas. Cliff Palace has 150 rooms and 23 Kivas. The Kiva is the circular area in the pictures attached. It was a community meeting area that was used for ceremonial purposes and other community purposes. It was probably used for warmth in the cold winter months as well. It has a fire pit in the middle of it and a roof over top with a ladder going down the middle.
Takeaway: One of the most educational and historical Parks we’ve been to. Because the cliff dwelling tours are Ranger-led, you learn a lot about the Puebla Indians who lived there in the past and how they lived in this region. Very fun place to explore with the family!
